What it is
Invaoids-fected is Martian Bacon’s hybrid arcade space combat game: rotate, thrust, fire, and survive waves that unlock more chaos every stage. Power-ups drop mid-fight. Virus Mode can yank you into portal hijacks. Clear enough damage and you unlock a shelf of minigames — platform leaps, side-shooter corridors, kart cups, soft landings, base recovery, and a purple-tile pyramid shootout.

Why Linux first (and free)
This drop is aimed at people who already live in a terminal or a software center. The same binary ships in the formats Linux players actually use:
- Debian / Ubuntu —
.debviaapt - Fedora / RHEL —
.rpmviadnf - Flatpak — sandboxed
com.martainbacon.InvaoidsFected - AppImage — chmod + run, no root required
Price: free. Controllers: gamepads get on-screen button labels. Keyboard WASD + Space still works if the coffee mug owns your right hand.

Install in under a minute
sudo dnf install ./invaoids-fected-1.2.1-1.fc44.x86_64.rpm # or sudo apt install ./invaoids-fected_1.2.1-1_amd64.deb # or flatpak install --user ./invaoids-fected-1.2.1-x86_64.flatpak # or chmod +x ./invaoids-fected-1.2.1-x86_64.AppImage && ./invaoids-fected-1.2.1-x86_64.AppImage
All four builds are on the Invaoids-fected download shelf at the top of the landing page.
After you boot
Skip the intro with Enter / A, pick Standard for a clean dogfight or Virus when you want OS-flavored sabotage. Climb the online scoreboard when a run feels unfairly good — then send a friend the link while their ship is still exploding.
